Getting verified takes a name, a license designation, and a passed check. That's the whole bar. A profile that just clears it and a profile that's actually built out look identical to the system. They don't look identical to a buyer scrolling the directory.
Verification is the floor. It's not what makes anyone stop scrolling.
An empty profile reads exactly like what it is: a placeholder. No photo, no bio, no menu, and a buyer moves on before they've spent five seconds on it. Add a real photo of yourself or your operation. Write a bio that says what you actually grow or move and how long you've been at it. Specifics beat polish here. "Third-generation outdoor in Humboldt since 2011" does more work than any well-written paragraph with nothing real in it.
None of that matters as much as the menu. A profile with current, structured listings is one a buyer can act on right away. A profile with no menu means they have to message you just to find out if you've got anything worth buying, and most people won't bother sending that message. Already tracking inventory in a spreadsheet? Sync it from a Google Sheet instead of re-entering everything by hand.
Everything past that, gallery photos, social links, a website, a direct phone number, is smaller signal stacked on the big ones. None of it is required. All of it tells a buyer there's a real, active business behind the license number, not an entry that got created once and forgotten.
Post what you're looking for, not just what you're selling. A profile that only shows outbound listings reads like a for-sale sign. One that also shows sourcing requests reads like an operator running a real business, buying and selling both. That's the profile people actually pay attention to.
Verification proves you're licensed. Everything else on this list proves you're worth doing business with.
